Fluorescent tubes, electronic components, cables

275 x 430 x 350 cm

Quarc stands for Quantum Art Cloud. The igloo-like construction is made of a hundred standard fluorescent tubes connected by 1.5 km of cables. At the center of this device is a “mother brain” built with magnets and disks that has been designed to illuminate the tubes in a random sequence. Antithetically, as sophisticated and technically labored as it is, this work reflects a controlled situation in which unpredictability is the motivation behind a predictable mechanism.
