My Good Fellows, 2002
Raw Clay
Variable dimensions
My Good Fellows is a time-based piece in which the artist created objects out of raw clay in the span of a week confined to the space where they were to be displayed. In an attempt to recall every object that he owns, the artist modeled loose replicas akin to fast sketches or rough drafts of self-portrait or autobiography only by memory, performing an inventory of his material possessions. The end result of this process is 400 objects austerely hung on the walls, representing a form of mental projection of what physically constitutes one’s everyday life.
