Ceramic, bronze glaze

Variable dimensions

A series of twenty classical busts, molded in silicon and reversed – much like their titles – and reproduced in ceramic with bronze glaze reveal unexpected forms and contours. If Hercules still retains his massive posture, it’s not recognizable in the face. The transmogrified Michelangelo’s David can be easily mistaken for Elvis with regressing visual references and the hair as the most prominent optical cue. Carved out noses, inversed ears, sinuous forms that might not have been obvious at first glance come to light as the precious coating of the patina and the reflections on the surface yield more careful inspection.
